CONSTITUTION
1. TITLE
1.1 The Club shall be called the Bere Alston Bowling Club hereafter referred to as "the Club" and
shall be affiliated to Bowls Devon and Bowls England..
2 AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
2.1 Provide facilities and equipment for the purpose of Lawn Green and Indoor Short Mat Bowling, social
events and a range of community activities. Provide a safe and friendly environment to allow all members, residents and
visitors of all ages colour and creed to pursue their chosen activities. Encourage and support all residents in Bere Alston and
surroundin parishes to sustain lifestyles that are physically and mentally active, through engaging in the activities promoted by
BABC.
3. MEMBERSHIP
. Membership of the Club shall be open to any person completing a membership application
form and paying the relevant subscription and joining fee as determined by the Annual
General Meeting of the Club Members.
3.2 There shall be three classes of membership available. These are:
3.2.1 Full member

3.2.2 Junior member: A Junior member will be under 18 years of age on 1st May -
There will be no minimum age for Juniors.
Approval to be based primarily on maturity, potential and ability.
3.2.3 Social member: Such members will not be entitled to:
(a) use the bowling green other than as visitors, or
(b) vote at Annual or Special General Meetings of the Club.
3.3 Social members may apply for full membership and on acceptance will pay the difference
in the Joining Fee and Subscription.
3.4 An ex member applying to rejoin the Club after a break of one year will, subject to the
discretion of the Executive Committee, be treated as a new member.
3.5 A member may be expelled from the Club if, at a special meeting of the Executive
Committee called for the purpose, the majority of those present, hold him or her to
have so misbehaved as to become an undesirable member of the Club. The member so concerned
shall be invited to be present to state his or her case.
3.6 The annual subscriptions shall be the sums agreed at the Annual General Meeting and
will be payable by the 31st December. Any member in arrears with his or her subscription
shall cease to be a member, if he or she fails to pay the subscription within fourteen days of
the receipt of a reminder letter from the Honorary Secretary requesting payment.
3.7 No member normally qualified to vote shall be entitled to vote at the Annual General
Meeting or a Special General Meeting unless his or her subscription has been paid to date in
accordance with rule 3.6.
